Do you trust yourself?

What are the dreams and visions you have been having lately?

Are you ready to take risks and put your fear away in order to achieve your dreams?

I know it sounds easier than it is.

” I always dream of doing….”

” I would love..but”

We are specialists in being busy and making excuses to delay, postpone or never achieved our dreams our goals.

I was like that as well but now I am determined to follow my dreams, and yes sometimes it will be hard and yes I have to be ready to get comfortable with the uncomfortable.

To step out of my comfort zone and do things I have never done before.

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results”

Albert Einstein

The fear to be judged, the fear to fail it can be paralyzing.

If we only change the perspective toward this we will be taking a massive shift.

If we can see we are our worst judge and maybe realize that by putting ourselves out there we might be helping someone else whit similar problems. Or instead of being afraid of making mistakes we realize that we don’t know everything, that we will make tons of mistakes so we can embrace them and take them as learning opportunities.

There will ALWAYS be obstacles along your path so that you can continually learn more of who you are and how you show up for the occasion.

Every full moon is the time to focus our energies on letting go and releasing all fears.

Time to reflect on what is no longer serving us and adapt to evolve.

Because things not always will present in the exact same way we planned it to be.

Since 2018, every full moon I host a yoga class by donation to fundraise a non-profit organization here in the Cayman Islands.

This year October’s full moon date is busy with lots of events and things happening on the island so I have decided to plan this magical encounter 1 week after the full moon.

On the Saturday of October 19th, I will be hosting an Acroyoga Jam.

This is a playful practice the invites us to meet and have fun while we learn how to perform yoga poses with others.

If you want to learn how to perform the moon salutations also known as Chandra Namaskar, the yin side of the Sun salutations, a gentle flow that invites us to cool down and reflect.

I am giving away a free tutorial. You can have access by clicking on this LINK

On October’s full moon let’s stop the shxt. Trust and believe in yourself fully and be fiercely independent when it comes to following your heart.

Unleash Your Inner Badass

I encourage you to take one action one step that will help you to be closer to achieve your dreams

And feel free to share in the comments below.

For positive changes.

You are meant to be here

September full Moon is known, this year as Harvest Moon,

If you have been following my blog post you know I like to explain what each full moon energy is about and before that I share with you information about the names of the moons each month.

Unlike other full Moon names, which are specific to their respective months, the Harvest Moon depends on an astronomical event: the autumnal equinox, this is the first day of autumn in the NorthAmerican countries and it will be the spring equinox in the SouthAmerican countries.

Historically, Native Americans gave a name to each month’s full Moon, naming it concerning a natural event or sign of the season. This aided them in tracking the progression of the year

The full Moon that happens nearest to the equinox (September 22 or 23) takes on the name “Harvest Moon,” rather than its traditional name, which means that a Harvest Moon may occur in either September or October.

This month’s full moon rises on the night of Friday, September 13, and reaches peak fullness at 12:33 a.m. EDT on the 14th.

As if this Harvest Moon wasn’t interesting enough already, September’s Full Moon will also be a “micro moon.”

A micro moon is exactly the opposite of the supermoon: a full moon that occurs when the Moon is at the farthest point in its orbit around Earth (the point of apogee). In other words, the Moon is about as far from Earth as it can get, causing it to appear about 7% smaller and 15% dimmer than usual.

Would you like to know more about the full moon meaning and its energy??

Here it goes:

The Sun opposite Moon brings your home, family and intimate relationships into sharper focus for the following two weeks of this moon phase. Opposing forces such as work versus home, or what you need versus what you want, create inner tension and external pressures. This can lead to conflict and crises that drain your energy.

The lunar qualities of emotions and instincts reach their peak at a full moon. So use your increased emotional strength and intuition to overcome any relationship challenges. Subconscious awareness allows for an impartial and balanced look at your relationships. You will see any relationship dynamics or negative feelings causing disharmony.

During the full moon, is the perfect time to release and let go what no longer serving you, what is not letting you grow.

I know.. it is a little bit of magical thought here, with fairies and unicorns. I choose to believe in it because it helps me; if I can analyze and realize what am I doing wrong I can implement positives changes, I can feel better, I can improve and evolve.

But that is the way I see it

Whether you’ve got old emotions flowing up to be released or you feel a little scattered. Remember that all things happen for a reason and in perfect timing.

September’s full moon offers healing energy to help us cleanse away anger and allow acceptance and forgiveness to set in.

See your life from a bigger perspective and understand these “traumas” needed to happen to help you spiritually grow.

To release and let go, you have to start with the simple things, changes won’t happen overnight but if you work on the changes you want for you they will happen.

A way I like to do it is by practicing the moon salutation and focusing on what I want to let go while I am doing the practice. During these days I usually take time to perform a release ritual, like writing down what it is aI need to let go and release it helps me to be specific and take actions.

I am leaving here a link so you can have access to a free tutorial on how to perform the moon salutations and the release ritual guided form on pdf.

All for free 😊

YOU are meant to be here.

Embrace your path; anything in a state of decay in your life can be reborn. You can get to the cause of any bad habit or addiction. You can deeply probe under the surface to solve mysteries or investigate crimes and secrets. Your intuition is very strong and can guide on your journey in this world.

If you re-interest in letting go fears, insecurities and you would like to discover what are you capable of , I am hosting an Acroyoga & Rock Climbing Retreat in Cayman Brac.

We are going to spend 3 days and 3 night in paradise, focusing on your transformation by getting out of your comfort zone and exposing yourself to be brave, to be courageous, to trust and to find out you are capable of so much more.

I am leaving a LINK here with specific information about the Acroyoga & Climb Retreat with the early bird price discount!

“You must go on adventures, to find out where you truly belong”

-Sue Fitzmaurice-

Do you take time to do the things you love?

A lot of people still spend most of their lives filled with stress, anxiety, and despair about how they spend the majority of their working and waking hours. How often do you take time to do to the things you love?

It happens to all of us, we get so much caught spending time at work, taking care of our family that we “never” have time.

Sound familiar?

I believe if we dedicate more time of our lives doing what we love and working in a fulfilling job will change the world and the way we treat each other as human beings. It is healthy and needed to organize your days in a way you can be productive at work and you can have some time off. And there is nothing wrong with that. We have this misconception that the harder or the longer we work makes us better workers. I used to believe that for years. Is something I got from the society I was living in before I started traveling as a way of leaving and I am not pointing fingers to anyone here, I take full responsibility, I didn’t know any better at the time.

Nowadays there are so many different ways to produce income, thanks to the internet you can create an online business that will allow you to organize your life in a way you will be able to enjoy more, I am not saying this will be easier it can be a lot of work too but if this is something you choose to do it will be so much more rewarding. I am currently in the process of creating my online business, by taking my classes, workshops, and training online, thanks to Wire Creative. But if teaching is not your thing, there are tons of possibilities, you can be selling through amazon, or working as a virtual assistant, the possibilities are many, you can check this link of the course to know more about it.

I have been so busy these days planning my Acroyoga & Rock Climbing Retreat and planing my classes on top of taking care of my daily obligations, cleaning the house, making sure I feed my cats and find time to spend with my love partner, that a break was needed.

So I decided to go with a bunch of students/friend to climb for fun to Cayman Brac the island, where I will host my retreat in November 2019. and every time I go there I wonder why I don’t do this more often. If I love rock climbing & doing yoga, acroyoga and other things.

You know what? The funny thing is that Cayman Brac is a 40 min flight from where I live, that means I could be doing that once a month at least.

Anyways, I am here today to share with you also how rewarding was to take this group of friends to climb for the very first time. To see their faces after knowing they achieved something they thought it was too hard before trying it, is priceless.

We spend a weekend enjoying amaizing sunrises & sunsets, exploring the island, climbing, rappelling, I showed them some of the caves, I had time to visit some friends and we had so much fun chilling in the pool of the condominiums, with the amazing view of the Clift.

We were so lucky with the weather, Cayman island can be really hot especially in the summer but we had a sunny day, every day.

And I am so grateful for having such an amazing group of people in my life, who like doing all this crazy things.

If this is something you would love to try, check out the info fo my Acroyoga & Climb Retreat in Cayman Brac I love doing any outdoor sports but I understand this can not be for everyone.

Although it is proved that people who stay optimistic and work in a job they love or fulfill them or find time to do things they enjoy they have more quality of life and more lifetime!

I will share some tips here to start the change with simple things:

  • Find time to spend with your loved ones ( family or friends)
  • Get together to play games putting your phone in silence
  • If you work demand to spend too many hours being inside, make time to take a walk before or after work or maybe you can take a break and go for a walk, even if it is only around the block but much better find a nice park where you can go for a walk, fresh air is always good.
  • Do you have pets, play with your cat or your dog for 10 min a day, it will make you feel better.
  • Every day thinks in one thing you are thankful for.
  • Do you like reading, put your phone in silence and read at least 20 min every day.
  • Morning rituals are my favorites, I keep my phone without wifi until I finish my yoga or meditation session in the morning or sometimes is just breathing exercises
  • Take a holiday trip!

I know all these options my sound obvious or my not but seriously, don’t waste any more time you have to make the change happen if that is what you want. Otherwise you will be forever being miserable.

The time is now.

Tell me, what is that you like to do and you keep finding reasons to push it off?

“Insanity, doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results”

Albert Einstein

Let me know in the comment below, I would love to read about it.

Why Acroyoga?

Every full moon has a different name, this was the way Native American Tribes would track the seasons. August full moon is known as the Sturgeon Full Moon. This is because Native Americans knew that the giant sturgeon of the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain were most readily caught during this full Moon. The surgeon is an ancient fish, people will call live fossil

The word “sturgeon” means “the stirrer,” which is what this giant fish does when it is looking for food; it stirs up the mud and silt on river and lake bottoms.

Famers Almanac

According to some tarot readers, August’s Full Moon invites us to let our imagination stir with eccentric ideas and visions that will contribute to the whole and betterment of our society.

Before even knowing this I have decided to change my fundraiser classes to an Acroyoga Jam.

Every full moon since August 2018 I have been hosting a yoga class to fundraise a nonprofit organization Cayman’s Act of Random Kindness in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

I hosted these classes around the full moon dates and during the classes, we worked with the full moon energy. We reflect about what do we need to release and let go and we practices a slow yoga secuense as the Moon Salutations or Chandra Namaskar in sanskrit

(You can read more about it int this Blog Post )

August full moon in 2019 is 1 year I have been hosting these classes!

I am so happy that I want to celebrate the anniversary involving more people in an acro-yoga practice

Acroyoga is all about letting go and trust.

Letting go of the fears, the insecurities. Stop saying to your self “I can’t”, “I am not strong enough” or any other excuses that might show up.

This full moon is here to help hold you accountable for stepping into who you really are and releasing those layers and masks that no longer authentically align

Brittney Carmichael

I decided to do an acro yoga jam because when I have practiced acro-yoga for the first time I felt free but I felt free with others and I want to share this with you.

Acroyoga is a community-based practice that encourages personal transformation.

Acroyoga invites you to experience the full spectrum of your being through opportunities to:
-give and receive
-support and be supported
-experience strength and sensitivity.

It is a systematic approach to health and healing designed to be accessible for every practitioner.
It is fun to practice and fun to watch.

“The best of acro yoga is that it brings people together in the old fashion way, through human connection, touch, and play”

Jason Nemer

No one knows exactly when this practice started, acrobatics and yoga have been mixed in many ways for thousands of year.

But it has been found photos with ancients yogis practicing similar poses to what it is Acroyoga today with kids.

Krishnamacharya and one of his daughters presenting a little ‘acroyoga’ in a scene from the 1934 film documentary footage “Breath of God”

No a days there are two well known yoga shcool in Canada, “Acroyoga Montreal and “Acroyoga International”, among many other qualify teachers

Acroyoga is all about community, relationships, and partnerships. Has grown beyond one school or one person only. Thanks to the curiosity of the modern yoga teachers, practitioners, and acrobats who have shared their knowledge now we can know acro-yoga as it is.

If you are currently living or visiting in the Cayman Islands
I invite you to come and join the practice.

Full “Thunder”Moon in July 2019

July’s full moon is known as the Full Buck Moon because a buck’s antlers are in full growth mode at this time. This full Moon was also known as the Thunder Moon because thunderstorms are so frequent during this month.
The Full Moon Names is being used in The Old Farmer’s Almanac come from Native American tribes, Colonial Americans, or other traditional North American names passed down through generations. Each full Moon name was applied to the entire lunar month in which it occurred.

July’s full moon is coming with a partial eclipse. This will be the last lunar eclipse of 2019, is visible on Tuesday, July 16th, from Australia, Africa, South America, most of Europe, and Asia.
The eclipse will miss North America, except for the very southern and eastern parts of the continent.

This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse invites us to face our fears, and accept the life lessons you’re currently being taught.

Like every full moon is time to release and let go what no longer positively serves you to make room for what you want.

This energy is going to be intense so take time to rest after a big release. You’re being stretched beyond your comfort zone to expand past your current limiting thoughts, beliefs, and emotions.

On top of all these energies changes, in July we are being influenced by mercury retrograde.

Did you heard about it but you don’t know what is it?

According to the age-old practice of astrology, we are all influenced by the effect of Mercury in retrograde. Due to the way our planet’s orbit interacts with the orbits of the other planets, they might sometimes appear to be traveling backward through the night sky concerning the zodiac. This is, in fact, an illusion, which we call apparent retrograde motion.
Three times a year, it appears as if Mercury is going backward. These times, in particular, were traditionally associated with confusions, delay, and frustration.
However, this is an excellent time to reflect on the past. It’s said that intuition is high during these periods, and coincidences can be extraordinary.

In 2019, Mercury will be in retrograde three times, during the date ranges of:

  • March 5 to 28
  • July 7 to August 2
  • October 31 to November 20

How this can affect us?

The planet Mercury rules communication, travel, contracts, automobiles, and such.
So, when Mercury is retrograde, remain flexible, allow extra time for travel, and avoid signing contracts. Double-check your email responses, check-in with reservations before you take that trip.
Review projects and plans at these times, but wait until Mercury is direct again to make any final decisions. You can’t stop your life, but plan ahead, have back-up plans and be prepared.
Some people blame Mercury retrograde for “bad” things that happen in their lives. Instead, this is a good time to sit back and review where you put your energy in your life. For example, if family and faith are important to you, are you putting your energies there or just overextended in other areas?
Take a moment to reflect. Mercury retrograde can be an excellent time to take a step back and reanalyze who you are and what you are doing—but do refrain from making any drastic changes until after retrograde has ended.

May’s Flower Full Moon, What is it about?

According to the farmers almanac May’s full moon is in May 18th and known as the Full Flower Moon.
This is because in the norther hemisphere, May is notable for being the turning point in the year where temperatures rise and a vast variety of flowers come into full bloom, letting the world break out into a riot of color.

Some Native American tribes named May’s full moon as “The Corn Planting Moon”, considering this as the perfect time for them to start preparing the fields for farming and sowing the seeds saved up from last year; apart from corn, other foods such as beans, squash, and potatoes are planted during this time.

Bloom is everywhere.

Energetic wise, there is a heavy energy around this Full Moon that will be drawing us in and asking us to be honest listening to the depths of our heart and soul.
We are going to have to be gentle and patient with ourselves, and allow the magic of the Moon to do its work.

Every full moon it has the purpose to do some cleaning and make space to welcome all the new, positive things/ toughts/ intentions/ projects we would like to receive and focus on the new moon.

Take a moment and ask yourself ;

  • What is stoping you from reaching joy and happiness?
  • What is not letting you grow?

If you would like to know more about the Chandra Namaskar sequence and its meaning, here I am leaving you a LINK to read more about it in past a blog post

First Aerial & Pole Dance Showcase in Cayman Islands!

I am so happy to be part of the 1st ever Aerial & Pode Dance Show case in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands.

The master mind behind all this is Quinn, the owner of “Quinntessential Movement”, where I am currently teaching.

Quintessential Movement started as a pole dance studio the very first in Cayman Islands adding later aerial acrobatics, fitness, conditioning, flexibility classes and yoga. Plus different workshops happening during the weekends.

The show is a result of teachers instructions and students passion of what they have learn in the classes; followed by the dedication in their practice adding their own style and creativity to the choreographies

How everything started for me here?

When I arrive in Grand Cayman in 2015, my partner and myself came with the idea of staying only 1 year, save some money and keep travelling around the globe.

Cayman Islands are known as paradise, with its beautiful beaches and glamorous vacation resorts which are quite popular for tourists.

I have been in the entertainment industry for a while now. I don’t consider myself an expert still many more to learn but my mom once told me the first time I danced on a stage I was 5 years old.

So I came here expecting to find job with an entertainment company and I found out there were no formal entertainments company by that time.

I pull out my master degree in physical education and all my experience around it, sent some cv to different places and after 2 weeks I got a job in a very prestige hotel along with my partner who got a job in the diving industry before me. Finding a place to rent was relatively easy and we got comfortable fast. At the end of 2 years of hard work I was able to buy as a self present for my birthday my first car ever.

Time passed by and we decide to stay a longer or better to say we decide to do not set a departure date and go with the flow.

On my 3rd year in the island I couldn’t do it anymore, I have to be honest with myself even I got promoted to supervisor of the watersports activities I was not happy working in the hotel; the job was good and the income was great but it was time and soul consuming. I was not fully dedicating my time to what I always did, sharing my passion for yoga and aerial circus acrobatics.

Looking for a way to go back to the activities I enjoy, I did some online research and found there was a place where pole dance was taught.

Wow! I was so happy that I sign up right away for the classes.

There is were I met Quinn who was the instructor and the wonderful group of people who was taking classes with her.

Quinn started a community in Grand Cayman who were ready for more, not just for the physical challenge, they wanted to learn how to fly.

So she open her own studio Quinntessential Movement.

Her encouragement, together with other people I know, in Cayman Islands who started their own bussines as well; inspire me to do the same. To keep following my dreams.

What do I have to lose if offer Quinn my classes at her studio?

Nothing, and the answer was Yes!

That was enough reason for me to decide to quit to my hotel job and invest time and money to start my own bussines in Cayman Islands.

And I absolutely not regret it.

I started with my mobil bussines named Sannyasa Yoga Acroyoga & Performance Ltd.

All about yoga, acroyoga & aerial acrobatics, offering classes and performances.

I encourage you to do the same, if you have a dream do anything it takes to make it happen.

Most likely it won’t be easy at the beginning. As an entrepreneur depending only on me, I still need to work hard to make it happen but it is absolutely rewarding to be able to generate income by doing what you are passionate about.

And I think all the love and the passion is reflected in the studio, in the classes and in the students like a family

That is why I am so proud to be part of the instructors of the studio and community where we all help each others to “shine”

Here is our flyer and some of the beautiful ladies I have the honour to teach

Gone to Cayman Brac

April 5th is finally here!

Acroyoga Workshop in Cayman Brac is happening!

Yesterday I was seating at the airport in Grand Cayman waiting for my flight to Cayman Brac and like almost never happen I am too early so I decides to seat and write.

For the ones who don’t know Cayman Brac is one of the 3 islands in Cayman Islands located in the Caribbean near to Cuba and Jamaica. Is the only one of the 3 where you can rock climb, dive, bike chill at the beach and do an acroyoga workshop 😉 during some dates in the year

Taking a fly from Grand Cayman to Cayman Brac is only 40 min; you have to be at the airport for your checking not longer than one hour ahead.

I have to confess I am a little bit anxious. It will be my first Acroyoga Workshop in Cayman Brac and the first ever happening there as well.

I don’t know what beautiful people will find but I am happy because I am so lucky to be able to share my passion with others in paradise.

My flight departed on time, I had a fantastic sleep night and this is my morning view.

I took this with my phone 🙂

I have been teaching since I am 24 years old. I have master degree in Physical Education and I am also a Yoga instructor pursuing my dreams.

I am saying this because I am now 35 and finally putting my self in the place I want to be.

Don’t get me wrong I have been enjoying living the life I want but lately I am looking for more balance and economy stability.

Sounds ironic right?

If I am a yoga teacher I should have found balance already and not be looking for “money” Or that is the misconception about it.

So wrong.

True be told, yoga teachers are human beings as well, we don’t have everything figured out and looking for balance is part of the personal practice.

I like to have a simple life and to do not have any material attachments but I believe after 10 years of hard work, doing my very best to provide quality in all my teachings & other jobs I deserve the reward of living a decent life where I don’t have to be looking for the cheapest, vegetarian dish in the menu if I am eating out with friends.

We all know money is doesn’t make us happy but poverty either.

Let’s be honest, we all want to live a life with bliss and comfort.

I deserve it; you deserve it; we all deserve that.

But how often we forget about that and underprice your work?

I lately learn how to value my knowledge and set boundaries when needed.

To be more confident courage, fearlessness, enthusiasm, and are NOT afraid to speak up for what I believe in.

I love teaching yoga and acroyoga is not the exception.

Acroyoga Practice is all about finding balance with your self and with others. Imagine trying yoga postures on someone else feet or someone else body parts.

Acroyoga word comes from the greek akros meaning= high and Sanskrit word yoga meaning= union. Together they form High Union; from this place so many physical shapes can be formed and students are able to literally and figuratively elevate each other.

I discovered the practice when I was living in Mexico, someone shared it to me and I want to share it as well. My highest aim is to help others to discover this wonderful practice and bring individuals into a state of union with themselves, with each other and with the community. From this place of mutual support the true self can be realised, celebrates and share the benefits of all

Acroyoga is a community based practice in encourages personal transformations. Invites you to experience the full spectrum of your being through opportunities to give and receive, to support and be supported. The best part is that is fun to do and fun to watch. It brings people together the old fashion way through human connection, touch and play

Let’s resume

  • Yoga teachers don’t know everything but we study a lot a compromise to give excellent quality in our teachings.
  • Finding balance is not easy, there is nothing wrong with you if you don’t have it yet.
  • Be aware that acroyoga or yoga practice can definitely help in the search.

Let’s roll the mat and get the party started

If it happen to be that you are close to Cayman Islands and would you like to join on one of my classes or workshops

Let’s keep in touch

P/S: April 5th is the new moon.

The new moon’s energy is wonderful for visualising, setting intentions, and gathering energy for the coming work at hand. This time isn’t good for action, but more planning, dreaming and scheming.

I leave you here with an inspirational quote

“Nothing in the universe can stop you from letting go and starting over.”
