Finally, I will be hosting this workshop I have wanted to do for a long time and you are invited 😊
Let me tell you more about it:
“AcroYoga is a dynamic partner practise that blends the wisdom of yoga, the dynamic power of acrobatics and the loving-kindness of the healing arts. It is a fun way to move your body and connect with others”
This workshop series is all-level and will feature partner exercises to help grow your practice. We will explore safety and roles (base, flyer, spotter) and work towards fun poses and transitions in safe and accessible ways. We’ll also introduce concepts of Thai massage and the principles of therapeutic movement.
No experience is necessary; everyone will find success at their own levels.
You can come with a partner OR independently to meet new friends at the workshop!
Each session will have a specific focus, dividing the practitioners by levels of experience so everyone can learn.

What are you planning to do on February 14th, 2020?
On St Valentine’s Day, we usually go out for dinner or exchange gifts with your love ones. Flowers, candy, red hearts, and romance…
That’s what Valentine’s day is all about, right?
But maybe this time you don’t feel like doing the same things, you would like to surprise your other half or you want to do something with a friend
Are you looking to do something more than dinner and a movie on Valentine’s Day?
If so, Acroyoga is for you, and the Valentine’s ‘season’ presents the perfect opportunity to try it out.
You’ve likely heard yoga defined as “union” or “yoke”, but what does that really mean?
Yoga forms a connection between your breath, your mind, and your body.
Acroyoga invites us to experience the full spectrum of our being through opportunities to give and to receive, support and be supported; to connect with your Acroyoga partner.
We are going to explore the sense of trust while having fun trying the acrobatic poses of yoga.
Closing the session you will learn a basic Thai massage technique.
No experience is required
Come by your own, with a friend or with your significant other.
Every full moon has a different name, this was the way Native American Tribes would track the seasons. August full moon is known as the Sturgeon Full Moon. This is because Native Americans knew that the giant sturgeon of the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain were most readily caught during this full Moon. The surgeon is an ancient fish, people will call live fossil
The word “sturgeon” means “the stirrer,” which is what this giant fish does when it is looking for food; it stirs up the mud and silt on river and lake bottoms.
Famers Almanac
According to some tarot readers, August’s Full Moon invites us to let our imaginationstir with eccentric ideas and visions that will contribute to the whole and betterment of our society.
Before even knowing this I have decided to change my fundraiser classes to an Acroyoga Jam.
Every full moon since August 2018 I have been hosting a yoga class to fundraise a nonprofit organization Cayman’s Act of Random Kindness in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
I hosted these classes around the full moon dates and during the classes, we worked with the full moon energy. We reflect about what do we need to release and let go and we practices a slow yoga secuense as the Moon Salutations or Chandra Namaskar in sanskrit
August full moon in 2019 is 1 year I have been hosting these classes!
I am so happy that I want to celebrate the anniversary involving more people in an acro-yoga practice
Acroyoga is all about letting go and trust.
Letting go of the fears, the insecurities. Stop saying to your self “I can’t”, “I am not strong enough” or any other excuses that might show up.
“This full moon is here to help hold you accountable for stepping into who you really are and releasing those layers and masks that no longer authentically align“
Brittney Carmichael
I decided to do an acro yoga jam because when I have practiced acro-yoga for the first time I felt free but I felt free with others and I want to share this with you.
Acroyoga is a community-based practice that encourages personal transformation.
Acroyoga invites you to experience the full spectrum of your being through opportunities to: -give and receive -support and be supported -experience strength and sensitivity.
It is a systematic approach to health and healing designed to be accessible for every practitioner. It is fun to practice and fun to watch.
“The best of acro yoga is that it brings people together in the old fashion way, through human connection, touch, and play”
Jason Nemer
No one knows exactly when this practice started, acrobatics and yoga have been mixed in many ways for thousands of year.
But it has been found photos with ancients yogis practicing similar poses to what it is Acroyoga today with kids.
Krishnamacharya and one of his daughters presenting a little ‘acroyoga’ in a scene from the 1934 film documentary footage “Breath of God”
No a days there are two well known yoga shcool in Canada, “Acroyoga Montreal and “Acroyoga International”, among many other qualify teachers
Acroyoga is all about community, relationships, and partnerships. Has grown beyond one school or one person only. Thanks to the curiosity of the modern yoga teachers, practitioners, and acrobats who have shared their knowledge now we can know acro-yoga as it is.
If you are currently living or visiting in the Cayman Islands I invite you to come and join the practice.
We will meet on Saturday august 17th, from 5 to 6:30pm in an outdoor grass area at Public Beach, next to Calicos bar and next to the kids playground area as a reference to find us.
Join the facebook group Yoga for every Acrobat, were I posted weekly videos tutorials with easy yoga postures to to encourage you to practice at home so you can imporve your acrobatic development.
Yesterday I was seating at the airport in Grand Cayman waiting for my flight to Cayman Brac and like almost never happen I am too early so I decides to seat and write.
For the ones who don’t know Cayman Brac is one of the 3 islands in Cayman Islands located in the Caribbean near to Cuba and Jamaica. Is the only one of the 3 where you can rock climb, dive, bike chill at the beach and do an acroyoga workshop 😉 during some dates in the year
Taking a fly from Grand Cayman to Cayman Brac is only 40 min; you have to be at the airport for your checking not longer than one hour ahead.
I have to confess I am a little bit anxious. It will be my first Acroyoga Workshop in Cayman Brac and the first ever happening there as well.
I don’t know what beautiful people will find but I am happy because I am so lucky to be able to share my passion with others in paradise.
My flight departed on time, I had a fantastic sleep night and this is my morning view.
I took this with my phone 🙂
I have been teaching since I am 24 years old. I have master degree in Physical Education and I am also a Yoga instructor pursuing my dreams.
I am saying this because I am now 35 and finally putting my self in the place I want to be.
Don’t get me wrong I have been enjoying living the life I want but lately I am looking for more balance and economy stability.
Sounds ironic right?
If I am a yoga teacher I should have found balance already and not be looking for “money” Or that is the misconception about it.
So wrong.
True be told, yoga teachers are human beings as well, we don’t have everything figured out and looking for balance is part of the personal practice.
I like to have a simple life and to do not have any material attachments but I believe after 10 years of hard work, doing my very best to provide quality in all my teachings & other jobs I deserve the reward of living a decent life where I don’t have to be looking for the cheapest, vegetarian dish in the menu if I am eating out with friends.
We all know money is doesn’t make us happy but poverty either.
Let’s be honest, we all want to live a life with bliss and comfort.
I deserve it; you deserve it; we all deserve that.
But how often we forget about that and underprice your work?
I lately learn how to value my knowledge and set boundaries when needed.
To be more confident courage, fearlessness, enthusiasm, and are NOT afraid to speak up for what I believe in.
I love teaching yoga and acroyoga is not the exception.
Acroyoga Practice is all about finding balance with your self and with others. Imagine trying yoga postures on someone else feet or someone else body parts.
Acroyoga word comes from the greek akros meaning= high and Sanskrit word yoga meaning= union. Together they form High Union; from this place so many physical shapes can be formed and students are able to literally and figuratively elevate each other.
I discovered the practice when I was living in Mexico, someone shared it to me and I want to share it as well. My highest aim is to help others to discover this wonderful practice and bring individuals into a state of union with themselves, with each other and with the community. From this place of mutual support the true self can be realised, celebrates and share the benefits of all
Acroyoga is a community based practice in encourages personal transformations. Invites you to experience the full spectrum of your being through opportunities to give and receive, to support and be supported. The best part is that is fun to do and fun to watch. It brings people together the old fashion way through human connection, touch and play
Let’s resume
Yoga teachers don’t know everything but we study a lot a compromise to give excellent quality in our teachings.
Finding balance is not easy, there is nothing wrong with you if you don’t have it yet.
Be aware that acroyoga or yoga practice can definitely help in the search.
If it happen to be that you are close to Cayman Islands and would you like to join on one of my classes or workshops

Acroyoga – Combines yoga, acrobatics and Thai massage; this is a practice of “trust”, usually between 2 or more practitioners. Whether this is your first time hearing the term “AcroYoga” or you are a seasoned practitioner, join us to explore the fundamentals of movement, dynamic transitions, communication, strength and flexibility of the body and the mind”
Chandra Namaskar (Moon Salutations) – Is a sequence which reveres and honours the energy of the moon, it involves moving to the right and left, and facing the long edge of the mat. The side stretches and circular movements of the sequence can be considered to represent the phases of the moon as it waxes and wanes. Chandra Namaskara is considered more yin in nature than the intrinsically yang Surya Namaskara. As such, Chandra Namaskara is a more cooling, meditative sequence of postures, which is ideally to be practiced in the evening.
Rock Climbing – Explore your verticality and see the world from a different angle! Rock climbing is perfect if you are looking to try something new and exciting. Focuses on top-rope climbing in a safe, fun, and casual environment. Absolutely no prior climbing experience is necessary. The climbing routes will be specifically chosen for the group, providing a customized and memorable experience at the Yogi Wall.
Ocean Cave Rappel – Stand on the edge of a cave 50ft off the ground overlooking the Caribbean Sea and get ready to descend! This mini-expedition is the ultimate combination of action and scenery. The perfect entry-level rappel tour for anyone who craves adventure.
